The city of surprises

This city surprises me
Every time it rains
The earlier smooth road would have ditches in it the next day

This city surprises me
Every time I take a cab ride
For I have met drivers, some uncouth, others impeccably polite

This city surprises me
Every single night
Some of them howling with winds, and the others eerily quiet

This city surprises me
Every time I see a person or meet
Some exist obnoxiously, some live surreally

This city surprises me
Every time I take a walk
It would be freezing cold one day when the previous was burning hot

This city surprises me
Every single minute I live
Some parts are real, some are probably not
