Write again

pen-paper

She held the pen with shivering hands
Once again, after about half a century
To write about the seas, the skies, the sands
About a thousand unforgettable memories

She tries to recall the last time she wrote
For someone she loved more than her soul
Before cars and roads meant the end of the world
Before she was left all alone

Time has never been kind to her
She blamed and cursed it for her solo journey
But love, never left her side
Just like the last picture of him in her mind

Today on her 70th birthday, she writes for him again
With life she learnt from every day that passed
For her love is unending, and she smiles through her pain
As her eyes twinkle like the diamond on her hand
